When searching for your student accommodation in Chester have you ever considered looking further afield then where you may already know? Whilst we all appreciate how convenient it is to live on Bouverie Street, having the Bouverie pub and the main campus both within spitting distance of one another, and how Cheyney Road and Hayes Park provide that perfect place to literally roll out of bed and be in lectures across the road within two minutes, have you ever thought of the benefits you may have living elsewhere?
We have a wide selection of homes that are still available with ourselves, some within the Garden Quarter and others further out located in the nearby village of Hoole.
So what makes it worth while living in the hot spot that is known as Hoole? Below we have listed all the reasons why we recommend your next academic year’s accommodation to be in Hoole!
Attending Lectures Just Got Easier
Whilst the majority of students that we meet do study at the main campus at the University of Chester we have noticed that there are students that also study at the Kingsway Campus otherwise known as the Creative Campus. As I drive past every morning I notice more and more students walking from the Garden Quarter, towards the campus each day, and I can’t help but think of how many hours people have wasted doing that journey and what better ways they could have spent their time if they only knew that there was housing closer located to where they study. We have homes that provide plenty of student accommodation within Chester that are close to Kingsway campus and they are located on Ermine Road, Brookside Terrace and Sandon Road. They are approximately between a 7 minute – 10 minute walk away from the campus itself, in opposition to the 25-30 minute walk that you would make from Bouverie Street. Not only this but when you have performances to attends, rehearsals or just want to be able to utilise the campus between lectures you have the flexibility and peace of mind you’re nearby!
Studying Remotely Just Got More Friendly & Fun
Although it is much easier to attend the Kingsway campus from Hoole, we appreciate sometimes there will be online lectures and who are we to say you have to go into campus to attend? Hoole has an abundance of places that you can go to when working remotely, so that you can still get out of the house if you want and explore all the cool places the village has to offer! There are a selection of coffee houses within Hoole, however there is one that stands out to us every time which is Short & Stout and is located on the same road as four of our student houseshares that we have on Ermine Road. There is also many restaurants, cafes and bars located on Faulkner Street that offer a variation of cuisine! Hoole is within reach of the city centre as well where there are a copious amount of places to select from when wanting to work remotely including the StoryHouse where students can benefit from free water and student discounts.

Nights Out Just Got More Carefree & Wholesome
Whilst we all love a night out in the City centre and love the benefits of having so many bars and clubs to choose from, there are great places to scope out in Hoole too! Whether it is that you want to escape the busy hustle and bustle of the clubbing nature and would prefer some wining and dining, or whether it is that you would prefer to not have to queue at the bar endlessly to wait for a cocktail and would much rather just chill in a cocktail bar, Hoole has all of this to offer! From Made in Italy which offers incredible Italian plates to The Suburbs where you can find a new cocktail to try each time, you’ll never be lost with what to do for a more reserved and chilled night out in Hoole.
Your Money Seems To Go Much Further
Another benefit we find with Hoole is that you really can find good value for money. Whether it be that it is shortening the time you are spending on public transport getting back and to the campus that is furthest out from most student accommodation, or just that you will find that due to the location of the homes and the decrease in demand for them ensures that you have a larger room for a much cheaper price than what you would find in the Garden Quarter. As Hoole isn’t within the immediate area of the main campus for Chester University we find that the homes in this area are priced accordingly to the lack of demand, as there are less students that attend the Kingsway campus. However, it is only a twenty minute walk to the main campus and if you don’t mind getting your steps in each day this may be a beneficial way for you to get the space you crave and still be able to save your money for those things that really do matter to you.
Transport Links Have Just Got Closer
Chester City train station is located just over the bridge from where the majority of our homes are located in Hoole, meaning anyone who is looking to commute to the Warrington campuses, or Wrexham University, this is an ideal spot to ensure you’re never late or running for the platform again! Not only this but there are regular buses also passing through Hoole, and there are links that are frequent for Chester Zoo, Cheshire Oaks and The Blue Planet Aquarium. For those that drive, Hoole is also closely located to the M53 that provides great transport links for the larger cities close by such as Liverpool and Manchester. Exploring nearby surroundings has never been easier when living on the edge of Chester City Centre.
City Centre Amenities Are Just As Nearby
A lot of people misunderstand how close Hoole is to the City Centre, and how easy it is to get into from Hoole. There are various routes you can take into the City Centre, varying from direct and definitely surrounded by the city, to the more suburban routes that are within the nature that surrounds. When we searched how long it would take on Google to walk from Ermine Road, where the majority of our houseshares in Hoole are located, to Chester Cathedral it has told us 15 minutes. To put this into perspective, when we searched how long it would take on Google to walk from Exton Park campus (the main campus) to Chester Cathedral it came back with two suggestions between 14 – 18 minutes. Meaning, that whilst living in Hoole for a cheaper price or better value, you can not only save money, but you can also go and spend it in the City Centre just as easily as if you were to live in the Garden Quarter!
Luxurious Living Spaces Offered Within
The living spaces offered within the homes that we have available within the Hoole area, benefit from being in larger homes so there is plenty of space available for all to enjoy within the household. We have aimed to ensure that there is either dining spaces within the living areas, or separate dining rooms so that you really do have a lot of room to spread out and go by your day to day activities without feeling like you are under everyone else’s feet. Not only this but the kitchens we have ensured in each home have the facilities to accommodate the houseshare size and have also ensured that everyone within the home can live comfortably amongst one another. With regards to the outdoor areas, we have ensured that where we can seating has been provided so that you can utilise the space outside too and enjoy the better weather when it comes!
Spacious Double Bedrooms & Even Attic Rooms
All our rooms within Hoole are double bedrooms and offer an abundance of space for you to store your belongings and really start to make your room feel like a home away from home. We have ensured that in each room there is fitted furniture which comprises of; a wardrobe, desk, shelving, drawer set, double bed frame and mattress and mirror. This is so you can just bring yourself and your soft furnishings and make it your own space. Not only this but as mentioned before, as your money does go that much further in Hoole, there are large rooms that wouldn’t be priced as low if it wasn’t for the location, and this means that you could get an attic room for as little as £130 per week!
