1. Fright Night at Carden Park

Carden Park Hotel in Broxton hosts its annual Fright Night, set in 1,000 acres of Cheshire countryside from October 24-31, and there is guaranteed ghoulish fun for all the family.

Enjoy plenty of terrifying thrills and scary spills riding around in the dark in the back of a 4x4 jeep in JEEPers Creepers.

Comforting hot chocolate and sweet treats will be on offer for the children in this half-term scarefest.

Tickets are priced £10 per person. To book, call The Event Station on 01829 731500.

2. Pumpkin picking

Dodd's Ln, Malpas, SY14 7J

Get together some friends and pick your won Pumpkin fresh to carve however you like!

Tackle a spooky maize maze filled with witches, ghosts and skeletons before picking your own pumpkin in the vast patch.

There are also bouncy castle and mini diggers - but don't forget your wellies!

Admission is £1 each, and it's £1.50 for the castle and toy diggers.

Visit the farm's Facebook page here.

3. Fright Night

Tatton Group is partnering with an immersive theatre company to bring a series of truly ‘spooktacular’ events to Cheshire for the first time, this autumn.

Working with Tatton Events, Immersive North, one the North West’s leading attraction and event specialists, is bringing an interactive 15+ horror experience for Halloween, in addition to family friendly activities throughout October’s half term week.

4. Chester Zoo

From an inquisitive baby bear to a huge Komodo dragon and from the tiniest fish to a beautiful black jaguar, a host of species at Chester Zoo have been getting stuck into their themed surprises.

Providing the animals’ meals in imaginative and unusual ways ensures they have to explore, think and work for their food.

The carved pumpkins coincide with the zoo’s family-friendly half term spectacular The Enchantment of Chester Zoo, which is running every day until Tuesday, October 31.

The event, which is free to visitors, is a magical, theatrical take on Halloween filled with adventure, acrobatics, music and costumed characters.
